Kia ora Country Wonders whānau,
Over the past few weeks, our tamariki have been learning all about Matariki and the importance of coming together to celebrate, reflect, remember, and look forward to the year ahead.
We are also so excited to officially welcome our amazing kaiako, Caitlin, back to the Country Wonders team. Caitlin is kind, caring, fun, and passionate about supporting our tamariki to learn and grow. We are incredibly grateful to have her back at Loburn, and the children have already loved spending time with her and exploring the many wonderful ideas she brings to our learning environment.
On Friday, we celebrated Matariki with a fantastic evening filled with waiata, kanikani at our disco, delicious kai, pizza, and a warm fire pit. Earlier in the day, our tamariki took great pride in helping to prepare a hearty vegetable soup and apple crumble to share. They also eagerly collected pinecones and firewood for the fire, showing teamwork, responsibility, and care for one another throughout the day.
It was heartwarming to see such an incredible turnout from our whānau. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with us. Your support, generosity, and willingness to be part of our community mean so much. Seeing our tamariki sharing this special occasion with their whānau made the evening truly memorable and reflected the values of Matariki—connection, togetherness, and gratitude.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who helped make this celebration possible. We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive and caring community, and we look forward to sharing many more special moments together throughout the year.
