We are seeking a qualified (Level 7 or higher), registered and expereinced teacher to join our team. For this role, you will become a part of our 3years-school age room with a team 4 other teachers and you will be responisble for our transtion to school programme (short daily sessions on perparing for school readiness that align with school key competencies).

We would prefer someone with a passion for working with 4/5 year olds and previous experience is ideal.

This position is full time, and initially for 6 months to cover maternity leave, for the right candidate, there is the potential that this could lead to further and ongoing work with us.

A friendly reminder that we close for the Christmas break at 3pm today and will re-open for business from 5th January 2021.

This year we will be once again collecting for the Christchurch City Mission Christmas Appeal.

Donations can be dropped off to the Whippersnappers office up until Friday 18th December.

This year the city mission will be providing Christmas presents for over 250 children.

If you are a family that needs some additional support this year, please reach out and we will put you in touch with the relevant support networks.

If you are in a position to donate, the City mission greatly appreciate the following items:
- Non perishable foods (tin food - spaghetti, baked beans, fruit salad etc)
- Toiletries including tooth paste & sanitary items
-Adult and child presents, labelled with s*x and age

Due to a sudden growth in numbers our toddler room (18months - 3 years) is now fully booked. We need to add another qualified and registered kaiako to our team, who is passionate about working with the toddler age group. We are a busy room and on a journey of heart centred teaching so like minded kaikao are invited to apply.

Our doors closed this evening, alongside most of the nation, as we enter the unknown. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to thank all of our Whippersnappers Whānau and the local community for your ongoing support and understanding over the last few weeks.

We look forward to reconnecting with you in the other side.

We are at Alert Level 2. At this level, schools and early childhood services remain open, but will be closed if there is a case of COVID-19 that affects them – this will be based on health advice and for a defined period in order to undertake contact tracing and other activities.
