We have two fantastic events coming up, and we’d love to see you there! This is open to EVERYONE 😊😊

OUR KIDS ONLINE – WITH ROB COPE
Thursday 27th August | 6.30–8.00pm

This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn more about the online world our tamariki are growing up in. Rob Cope shares eye-opening information about what is really out there, helping us understand how we can better support our children to stay safe online.

He also shares some fantastic, practical ideas for reconnecting with our children away from their devices and, most importantly, having fun together!

BIDS & BRAINS QUIZ NIGHT
Saturday 29th August

Grab your team, bring your thinking caps and come along for a night full of fun, laughs and a little friendly competition! 🎉

🌱 At Poroutawhao School, we’re proud to be both an Enviroschool and a Garden to Table school.

Our tamariki are learning how to care for the environment through hands-on experiences like feeding our worm farm with lunch scraps, monitoring the rubbish we produce through waste audits, and growing fresh vegetables right here at school.

Together, we’re building sustainable habits and growing the next generation of kaitiaki. 💚

Kia ora, e te whānau,

We all want our school and community to be a safe place for our tamariki. But in a rapidly changing digital world, the risks our children face online are growing—more frequently, and more seriously.

That’s why we’ve invited filmmaker, author, and speaker Rob Cope, producer of the powerful documentary Our Kids Online, to deliver a humorous, eye-opening evening talk for our parent community.

The talk will be held at school on Thursday 27th August from 6pm. Light snacks will be available. Please note this talk is for adults only and is not suitable for children or teens to attend. We will provide childminding for those whānau who need it onsite with a movie and board games.

We request that at least one representative from each family attend, and hope you are able to prioritise this within your busy lives. This topic is too big for us not to pay attention.
