A huge congratulations to our latest Principal’s Award recipient! 🌟

True leadership and team spirit are all about stepping up when it matters most. Even though Ariki is not in the team, he still same down and help the AIMs Games Team at the working Bee. Then Nau stepping in to support when his sister couldn't make it!

Thank you for showing what true school pride, selflessness, and whānau support look like. You are outstanding role models for us all! 👏🎉

What an incredible netball season! 🏐✨

A huge round of applause to all three of our amazing teams for leaving everything on the court this year. The growth, determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship shown every single week have been nothing short of inspiring.

A massive THANK YOU to our fantastic coaches, Monica and Kelly! Your dedication, encouragement, endless energy, and guidance kept everyone motivated and playing their absolute best. We couldn’t have done it without you both!

Also a big THANK YOU to all the parents and staff who showed up on Saturday every week. Awesome Taitoko School Spirit.

🌼 What a fantastic, bright, and vibrant Daffodil Day! 🌼

Taitoko School Spirit was on full display today, filling the grounds with vivid, bursting color and brilliant shades of yellow! From the sun shining down to all the smiling faces, the whole school was glowing with energy and excitement.

Everyone showed up in their absolute brightest yellow gear to celebrate, making the whole day feel extra cheerful, colourful, and fun! 💛✨

🌿 Junior Assembly 🌿

Room 3 ran our junior assembly this week, and it was absolutely awesome!

They opened with a beautiful karakia and song, then moved straight into a student-led debate, with two students confidently sharing their different viewpoints on “Should students bring toys to school?” Their speeches were fantastic!

Next up was a fun quiz all about New Zealand birds, complete with prizes! 🐦🏆

We also celebrated our PB4L awards, recognising students who have been showing our values: I am Respectful, I am Safe, and I am a Learner.

AIMS Games Working Bee, Giving Back to Taitoko 💚🌿

What an absolutely awesome morning at Taitoko today!
As part of receiving sponsorship from our Board towards AIMS Games, our players chose to give back to their kura through a working bee,and wow, did they step up! 💪
Our students worked incredibly hard alongside their whānau to clean up and transform an area of our school that will support our Enviroschools mahi, including our fertiliser containment area and our new little glasshouse (which is actually plastic 😂🌱).
It was honestly quite humbling to see not only how hard our students worked, but the amazing whānau support that turned up alongside them. In just a few hours, such a huge difference was made.
There was something really special about watching our students give back to the school that is supporting them on their AIMS Games journey. It was rewarding, cup-filling mahi with results we can all be proud of. ❤️
A massive thank you to our students and whānau who gave up their Saturday morning to help. We genuinely cannot thank you enough.
And a special thank you to Peter for leading the charge, organising the mahi and putting together our new glasshouse. 🌱👏
Many hands really do make light work, and today our Taitoko whānau showed exactly what that looks like.💚

COMMUNITY MEETING – PROPOSED SCHOOL ZONING

Kia ora e te whānau,
An important community meeting is being held on Tuesday 25 August at 5.30pm at Levin Intermediate School regarding the proposed enrolment zones across Levin.
Ministry of Education representatives will be there to answer questions.
I really encourage our Taitoko whānau to come along, ask questions and have your voice heard. This is an important opportunity to understand the proposal and what it could mean for our kura and our community.
Everyone is welcome. Please come along and support Taitoko. 💚

Bridges to Schools! What an awesome opportunity!
Today our Room 6 and Room 7 students had the amazing opportunity to take part in the Bridges to Schools programme as part of Te Pae o Tararua – Ōtaki to north of Levin (Ō2NL).
Our students became engineers for the day! They learnt about civil engineering and how bridges work, before working together to build a child-sized cable-stayed bridge themselves. They were then able to put their hard work to the test by walking across the finished bridge!
It was fantastic to see our tamariki problem-solving, communicating, working as a team and learning through such a practical, hands-on experience. Opportunities like this are a great way to introduce our students to STEM and the different careers that could be part of their future.
A huge ngā mihi to Jenny and the Ō2NL team, alongside Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, for providing this fantastic opportunity for our students. We really appreciate you bringing this experience into our kura and investing in the learning and future possibilities of our tamariki. ❤️
Judging by the smiles, Room 6 and 7 absolutely loved it!
