With a history of over 150 years, it continues to provide quality educational provision for the students in Leithfield and surrounding areas.

Our Book Week finished today with our Book Character Dress-Up Day!

There has been so much happening this week to help reinforce a love of literacy and reading across our school. We have enjoyed daily Mystery Readers, book quizzes, Stop, Drop and Read time, book-themed treasure hunts, Wacky Wednesday and even a special Readers Theatre performance from our staff!

A big thank you to Mrs Munro for coordinating such a fun week!

We’ve been talking about how we could give the Leithfield School pool a bit of a refresh and make better use of it as a community asset — not just for our tamariki, but for the wider Leithfield community too.

Rather than one or two people trying to make it happen, we’d love to see if there’s a group of parents, whānau and community members who would like to get involved and shape what this could look like.

Some things we could look at together:

What improvements are needed or would be worthwhile?
How could we make the pool more useful for the wider community?
What funding or grants could we apply for?
Could there be fundraising or sponsorship opportunities?
What would it take to get from an idea through to completion?

Do you have ideas, skills, connections or simply an interest in helping? You don’t need to commit to anything at this stage — we’re just looking for people who would be keen to come along to an initial meeting and see what we could achieve together.

Today, we had a visit from Project Jonah! Our ākonga learnt some amazing facts about humpback whales, including how much they weigh, how far they can travel, and even had the chance to explore inside a life-sized inflatable humpback whale!
