🌈 Holi Celebration & Rocking Rhonda 🎸✨🎉

Last week we joyfully celebrated Holi, the vibrant festival symbolising the victory of good over evil and the triumph of kindness and positivity 🌈✨. Tamariki listened to the Holi story 📖 and engaged in colourful creative activities 🎨, exploring self-expression while building an understanding of culture and celebration.

The day beautifully reflected Te Whāriki through Whakamana (Empowerment) and Kotahitanga (Holistic Development), as children confidently participated, shared ideas, and learned together. The excitement continued with Rocking Rhonda 🎶🎸, where music and movement supported gross motor development, coordination, and communication — linking strongly to Mana Reo and Mana Aotūroa.

Growing Minds Through Stories 📚🌱

Lately, we purchased a series of big books (they have arrived and will meet our tamariki next week) for mat time to support our tamariki’s empowered mindset for emotional and physical wellbeing, including supporting resilience, self-awareness and empathy, helping them navigate social interactions, learn to make friends and flourish in their relationships, as well as sparking tamariki’s curiosity about healthy food and encouraging them to try new things, supporting pattern recognition and cognitive development while creating little foodies 🌽🥦

This evening we have set up a new home for our lovely fish 🐠

Exploration leads to knowledge, understanding and invention. Children love adventure and when they explore their environment they learn about the world around them. Our children are busy exploring their environment and taking responsibility of their own as well as their peers learning and development journey.
Tuakana-teina a traditional Māori cultural philosophy also reflecting in our environment. Where the older children are navigating the younger children and helping them explore the environment in a meaningful way, which gives them an opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills.
