Introducing Our Kiwitea School CARE Council
Kia ora e te whānau,
We are excited to introduce our new Kiwitea School CARE Council. A group made up of our Year 7/8 students.
The CARE Council will provide opportunities for our students to have a stronger voice within our kura and take an active role in making Kiwitea School an even better place to learn, grow and belong.
Guided by our CARE values—Courage, Aroha, Resilience and Excellence—council members will help organise school activities, share student ideas, welcome new students, support our environmental initiatives and promote positive relationships across the school.
The CARE Council will include a range of student leadership roles, such as:
CARE Keepers
Newcomers Club
Enviro Leads
Sports Leads
Arts Leads
Kiwitea Meet and Greet
Our CARE Keepers will be out in the playground looking for children who are demonstrating our CARE values. When a child is spotted showing Courage, Aroha, Resilience or Excellence, they will receive a special bead to add to their CARE bracelet. Over time, students will be able to grow their bracelets as their positive choices and actions are recognised. (please note that no children will be made to wear a bracelet, it is absolutely a choice)
Through these roles, students will develop confidence, teamwork, communication and leadership skills while making a meaningful contribution to our kura.
We look forward to seeing our students bring their ideas, energy and CARE values to these important leadership roles.
Ngā mihi nui,
