This Friday we are coming together as a school to run the Halberg Mile.
This initiative by the supports, celebrates and helps break down barriers for every young person with a physical disability.

As a school we'll be taking to the course to cover 1 mile during block 3.
Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation and dress in the Halberg Mile colours of blue and yellow.
Following the mile there are sausages and juicies available to purchase (everything $2) with the proceeds also going to the Halberg Trust.
We look forward to seeing everyone in blue and yellow.

Yesterday began a week of EPRO8 taking place at EBIS.
Throughout the week, all classes have the opportunity to work in teams to complete engineering tasks.
Teams find success through communication, collaboration and cooperation.
Well done to the groups who've already been through, and we are looking forward to finding the teams to contest the final on Friday, along with the House that wins the most points.

Hopefully the worst of the Winter illness is behind us because this week there was a 4% bump on last week's attendance. Thank you to everyone for making a huge effort.
While we didn't quite get to 90% it did make a big difference to the overall term attendance.
Punctuality remained above 90%. Well done Room 14 who appeared in the top three for both attendance and punctuality this week.

Well done to all of the students who showcased their curiosity and scientific research skills at the NIWA Science Fair this week. You all did an amazing job and should be very proud of your achievements.
As has been the case for many years now, Evans Bay Intermediate School was well represented when the prizes and acknowledgements were announced. Here are the students who received recognition at this event, along with a group photo of all our representatives.
Thanks to Miss B for her guidance and support and to Mr Pool who joined the group on the day.
Well done to you all.

Last week two EBIS students, Leo and Luke, along with 2024 -25 EBIS student Georgia were in China with the WYNRS Football Academy, participating in the Peace Cup tournament.
While there, they created a world first when they did the EBIS Haka “E taku turangawaewae” on the Great Wall of China.
Thanks for sharing, and you've set the challenge to all other overseas travellers. Where else in the world can we share the EBIS Haka or Waiata?

It was a great day out at Petone Rec for the WRISSA Rugby League and Flag tournaments.
Both teams played well and battled hard against some stiff competition.
A huge thanks to Miss Hayes, John and Miss Trotter for their work with the teams and also to Coach Loli. Thanks for giving your time and expertise.
It's great to have you play with such spirit, but also for displaying our school values throughout the day.
