Songbird Early Childhood Centre We provide education and care children from 0-6 years old. Tamariki are nurtured, nourished, and encouraged ❤️ Songbird is surrounded by farmland and orchards.

We are situated in a beautiful rural setting halfway between Omokoroa and Katikati. Beyond the fence is an enthusiastic, caring and nurturing team of qualified early childhood teachers. Set amongst trees and native plants it has a large lawn, vegetable garden, playground and huge sandpit. An inviting space to relax, explore, play, discover and learn. A home away from home. ation and care for 2-5 year olds. Our families and whanau enjoy a friendly, dedicated team who are passionate about supporting children on their learning journey. At Songbird we build trusting, respectful and reciprocal relationships with our children, families, and whanau. We believe that a secure sense of belonging and community is an important foundation for exploration, discovery, and learning. Children are supported to develop self-management skills to ensure that they have the best preparation for their progression to primary school. Each child has a beautiful record of their learning in a portfolio. This documents how their learning and development is progressing and becomes a delightful keepsake for children and their families. We are living locally and loving life in beautiful Omokoroa Beach. We have recently relocated here with our two young children Spencer and Lily. Rebecca is an experienced, registered early childhood teacher who has cared for all ages from babies through to pre-schoolers. Rebecca has a passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment where children and families have a strong sense of belonging. Dan has a background in IT, events, website and administration management. He is the go to guy for all your enrolment, invoicing and admin questions. We look forward to meeting you. ✨ Better late than never... here's a little look back at our Matariki celebrations at Songbird. ✨

Over the week, we spent time learning about the meaning of Matariki – a time to come together, reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead with hope for the future.

Our tamariki embraced the celebrations through lots of hands-on experiences; we made delicious vegetable soup together, sharing in the joy of preparing and enjoying kai as a community. We got creative with Matariki-inspired arts and crafts, made our own kites, and spent time talking about the values of togetherness, remembrance, gratitude, and new beginnings.

It was such a special opportunity to slow down, connect with one another, and celebrate this important part of Aotearoa's cultural heritage in meaningful ways.

Ngā mihi to our wonderful tamariki for their curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm. We hope these experiences help foster a love and appreciation for the traditions and stories of Matariki for years to come.
