Katikati Kindergarten

Katikati Kindergarten Katikati Kindergarten is a not for profit service for the children in our community. Our teachers are 100% trained and qualified. We welcome visitors.

Our philosophy embraces each child's skills, talents and interests. Our unique environment fosters a love of learning through discovery and creativity. Our kindergarten has attained Green-Gold Enviro School status which means we educate the children to respect and care for the environment, through: growing fruit and vegetables, reducing waste, recycling and being care takers of the land (Kaitiaki

o te whenua). We are passionate about community connectedness as demonstrated in the creation of the Kati KaiWay, an edible walkway on Gilfillan Reserve. These community experiences enhance children's self worth, identity, confidence and enjoyment. Katikati Kindergarten is an extension of your home and the whole family/whanau is welcome to share in the experiences and enjoyment of this setting. Please feel free to come and explore this environment with and alongside your child. You can find us at 64 Fairview Road (By Moore Park). Ph: 5490084

Tēnā koutou e ngā whānau

Following the latest announcement, New Zealand will remain in Level 4 Lockdown until Midnight Friday 27 August.

We will continue to keep you updated as we know more.

We are currently looking at various ways for you, our Inspired whānau, to stay connected with your teachers and educators. The Inspired Board met last night and the Head Teachers from each of our Kindergartens have a hui this morning.

So we will touch base on this shortly.

Stay safe and happy in your bubbles!

Ngā manaakitanga,

The Katikati Kindergarten teaching team.

Tēnā koutou e ngā whānau

Following the latest announcement, New Zealand will remain in Level 4 Lockdown until Midnight Tuesday 24 August.

We will keep you updated as the situation progresses and hopefully next week we will have a clearer picture of when alert levels will change.

We appreciate it is a strange and trying time for our Inspired whānau. It is also a hard one to try and explain to our tamariki.

There are some great resources out there to not only stimulate those young minds but to have some fun together!

There is a lot for three and four year-olds to learn and master. As well as developing their physical skills, such as hopping and using scissors, children are rapidly expanding their vocabulary. They will go from a vocab of around 200 words at the age of two, to between 500 and 5000 words by the tim...
