Te Wiki o te Reo Mฤori โค๐Ÿ–คโค๐Ÿ–คโค๐Ÿ–ค
So much fun and enjoyment is being integrated into our week as we celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Mฤori.

Monday we ventured to our mฤra kai and planted some kฤroti and made gardens from playdough and Putiputi from collage materials!

Tuesday we looked at our native manu and we had Tanya's friend Kiri the Kiwi, Tane the Tui and Tama the Tuatara come to visit. We loved creating puppet shows with them and learning about what they eat and do!

And today was full of Ngฤ Karare o te Pฤmu/ Animals on the farm. We looked at animal groupings, counted in Te Reo, made a hipi ๐Ÿ‘ using paint and collage, sang Old McDonald had a pฤmu and used our animal figures to act out the song! And then it was off to carpentry to make kete. To finish our session it was bubble poi!!! Phew, what will tomorrow bring!!

Ka Pai to mahi tamariki ma!!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ‰

And that's a wrap on our beautiful Kลwhai week๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒผ. We had the most amazing yellow themed shared morning tea followed with mahi toi with a daffodil theme, yellow playdough and petals, a fizzing lemon vibe tea party AND ice and cornflour.

We said thank you to our Session Facilitator and Centre Advisor for all their aroha and mahi as they finish their current roles before heading to new ones ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ

AND we were so lucky to have one of our Nana's come and teach us all about how to weave and make harakeke flowers. What a FABULOUS way to finish our week of yellow, connect to our nature theme and acknowledge Daffodil Dayโญ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’›

How did we fit all that rich learning and play into one session?? A session of exploration, vibrancy, connection and aroha!!

We are celebrating, discovering and exploring the colour ๐Ÿ’› Kลwhai ๐Ÿ’› this week at Parklands Kamo Playcentre as it is Daffodil Day on Friday!

It is a beautiful way to link to our term focus of Nature, it will lead us into Spring and also allow the learning of the tamariki to happen in an authentic and engaging way!

Watch this space as all things magically yellow unfold and create a space of fun, nature and curiosity, all while being based on strong links to Te Whariki and learning through play!

What do you think we will do? Watch this space!!!!

Waipuna-ฤ-Rangiโญ๐Ÿ’ซ๐ŸŒ
We are loving exploring our stars and this week we have looked at the water that pools in the sky......Waipuna-ฤ-Rangi๐ŸŒ
We have used blue dye, water and droppers, fly swats and sieves to replicate rain fall, investigated the speed and capacity of rain, investigated ice play and melting, AND explored how rain nourishes the soil. We even planted some seeds and carefully dropped water onto them with our pipettes!!! The rich and authentic science and numeracy play all leading to a deep understanding and connection!! Ka Pai!!! ๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒง๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒงโญ๐Ÿ’ซ๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒง๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’™
