We wrapped up the term with a beautiful new addition to our leadership program - a shared dinner with the children and their wonderful parents. The tamariki took the lead by doing the shopping and cooking - how awesome is that!

Last term we were lucky to have the local fire brigade visit our centre and spend some time with our tamariki. Our leadership group wanted to show our appreciation, so they got busy in the kitchen baking up some delicious treats and delivered them ready for one od their training sessions.

Our leadership programme has kicked off for Term Two 2025. As always, we start with a trip into the Te Kamo Community and a visit to our one and only Kamo Pet & Aquatic Centre. Our children loved seeing all the variety of animals, and would love a centre pet!

This week we headed out for our first leadership trip for term 4. With a new group of children, our first trip is always to Te Kamo Village, learning about road safety and visiting some local shops. One of our younger tamariki grandads invited us to visit his very cool clock shop, our children found clocks they loved and jewelry they wanted to buy their mums 🥰😁 thank you Graeme Johnson Jewels and Time Ltd for having us and sharing your special shop! We will be back! We then headed to Kamo Pet & Aquatic Centre and introduced our tamariki to all the pets and of course they loved Oreo. The children all enjoyed their first trip and we look forward to the next one!

This week we had a very small group for our leadership programme adventure. We have had a busy time with our big children heading off to school, we will be ending the term with just 3 tamariki before the new group get to take part!

On Tuesday we took two of our oldest tamariki to the Town Basin to the Art Museum to enjoy the big blocks. Before it opened they stopped for a cheeky hot chocolate, once they were at the blocks, they made the 3 little pigs house! Some great mahi, and determination by these two! What a fun morning out!
