Te Rarawa are proud to announce that the 2027 Scholarship application round is now open.

Scholarships are available to anyone who are descendants of Te Rarawa 18+, who are studying to attain a Tertiary or Trade qualification in Aotearoa (Aotearoa based study ONLY).

Te Rarawa scholarships are for studies that align with the strategic direction of Te Rarawa.

2026 Scholarships include:

- Tarutaru and Te Ruapounamu Memorial

- Business and/or Primary Industry related studies

- Social Science related studies

- Kotare Trust scholarship awarded by Dame Joan Metge

KAITAIA COLLEGE SURFCASTING COMPETITION
26–27 September • 90 Mile Beach, Ahipara
24 hours of fishing. $3,000 prize pool. Snapper, kahawai and trevally, from 10am Saturday through to Sunday morning. The biggest prize on the board is $1,000 for average weight snapper — so you don’t need the fish of a lifetime to take it home. There’s also $500 each for largest snapper, total weight trio and mystery weight, plus $250 each for best junior male and female.
Hosted by the Kaitaia College Senior Council. Every dollar goes straight back to our students.

Today the Junior Council ran a bake sale during lunchtime as part of our Daffodil Day fundraising efforts. Along with the mufti day donations, we were able to raise over $400, which will be donated to Cancer Society. We are so proud to see our junior students out there supporting a great charity. Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser a success! 🌼💛

Gold coin donation, mufti day, all funds going to the Cancer Society.

The Junior Council will also be running a Daffodil Day bake sale at T-block during lunchtime, with all proceeds going to Cancer Society too.

We are incredibly excited to announce this one!

The Kaitaia College Sports Performance Academy, in partnership with Gainline Performance, is bringing Dr Kylie Wilson to Kaitaia College for a special evening focused on SUPPORTING YOUR YOUNG ATHLETES. 🧠💪🏽🏀🏉🏐

Kylie is a high performance mental skills coach with a PhD in Performance Psychology, and her recent team work includes working with the NZ Warriors Men’s Team plus many more!

This is a massive opportunity for parents, whānau, coaches and anyone involved in supporting young people in sport to hear directly from someone working at the highest levels of performance sport.

The evening will focus on practical strategies to help our young athletes:

⭐ Build confidence
⭐ Handle pressure
⭐ Develop resilience
⭐ Navigate the highs and lows of sport
⭐ Enjoy their sport while continuing to perform and grow

We are extremely proud to be able to bring an opportunity like this to Kaitaia and the Far North. Kylie has already been doing some awesome work with our Sports Performance Academy athletes over the last two years, and now we are opening this opportunity up to our whole community!
