Me Mahi Tatou - Kia Kaha to Iwi We are a Green Gold Enviro-School with awards to prove it!

Oturu has always been a school with special character and we have cultivated this over the years. We have fruit trees and gardens and try to make learning authentic; which means giving our students real connections to their learning. We are also working towards developing our students as ”self-directed learners.” We believe that if anybody is connected to the reasons for learning and can plan how,

and use the tools well… they will succeed. We have created a school environment that encourages hands on opportunities and teaches sustainability and real life skills, while reaching the whole child. Our students have a strong sense of belonging and pride in the school. They are involved in helping plan the way forward to the future of both the school and their own personal learning. We have grown from 60 students 10 years ago, to 170 and have 7 classrooms and an enrolment zone. We are planning now for new buildings next year, and this gives us vigour and optimism as we look toward the future for Oturu School.

🌼 Daffodil Day Tomorrow! 🌼

We are super excited to support the Cancer Society tomorrow! Here is everything you need to know to get involved whananu:

Dress Code: Wear your brightest yellow gear to show your support!

Gold Coin Donation: Bring along a gold coin to donate—everyone who donates will receive a classic daffodil pin to wear with pride!

Bake Sale: Delicious treats will be available for purchase. Bring a little extra change to grab a snack for a great cause!

Baking Donations: If any of our amazing whānau are able to donate baking for the sale, please drop it off in school hall tomorrow morning.
