Tomorrow is Max’s Last day before he heads off to big school next term. Max has requested a pyjama day. So let’s be comfortable and cozy tomorrow. Can wait to see what everyone is go to wear.

Tomorrow is Tāwhiri’s-Rangi’s farewell day before he heads to kura. He has requested that we have a dress up day with everyone coming as their favourite movie character. We can’t wait to see what everyone will be wearing.

Kia ora e te whānau!

We have had a heap of tamariki head off to kura - an emotional time for us after having many of these tamariki apart of our whānau since they were little pēpī 💙💖🥺🥰

What this does mean is after having a full roll for the last year we finally have limited spots available in our over two learning environment, we also still have our special of 20 free hours for 2 year olds and 30 free hours for 3 & 4 year olds!!!

This is great news!!! Finally the government are acknowledging that a ratio of 1 kaiako to 5 pēpi (child under 2), is not quality care & neither is having only 50% of kaiako qualified.

Here at Honeybeez we have always had a ratio of 1 kaiako to 3 pēpi, 2 kaiako to a max of 7 pēpi. It wasn’t and still isn’t a legal requirement but to give our precious pēpi the love and attention required for them to thrive it is essential - something we won’t back down on.

When looking for a centre for your tamaiti always be sure to ask what the ratio of kaiako to tamariki is & what the % of qualified staff is - this is the key to measuring quality 😉
