☀️ We got some very exciting news today 🙌 We will be part of the Solar in Schools programme which is being rolled out over the next 3 years. This is fantastic! We spend a lot of our operations budget on powering our school so this will help us save money AND it will provide more valuable opportunities for our tamariki to learn about solar energy ☀️

The first 500 schools to benefit from the government's Solar in Schools programme have been announced.

Exciting times! 1978 is about to hit the big screen 🤩 30% of ticket sales from the Martinborough screenings will be donated to our school and the Kahutara Hall ❤️ Make sure you get along to see this film, featuring our beautiful school and past/present students and whānau!

Our Year 6-8 students had an awesome day at Kahutara Lagoon on Monday, learning more about kaitiakitanga and how we can help care for this special place, right on our back doorstep. After our learning rotations, we planted 120 tōtara, mingimingi, tī kōuka, houhere and harakeke, to help grow and develop this area. We finished the day with Whaea Te Uru teaching us how to weave fish from harakeke. A real highlight was the beautiful baking that Brownie had prepared and served throughout the day 🤩 😋 A big thanks to the teams at Greater Wellington, Enviroschools, Fish and Game, and everyone who helped to organise a great day for our tamariki. We are proud to play our part helping to protect Wairarapa Moana 💙

Hub 1 headed out to the Ruamāhanga Farm today, to help with the clean up after the recent flooding. We spent the morning releasing plants and planting in the wetlands. The Ruamāhanga Farm Foundation organises wonderful learning experiences for our school, so this was a small but nice way that we could help out 🌱 🌎 🌳 Thanks to Green Jersey Explorer Tours for providing transport, Stella Khoo for helping, and the team at the Ruamāhanga Farm!
