Kia ora whanau, for those who haven't seen the notice by the sign in sheets. This is happening tomorrow (friday) and Saturday. It will be an awesome experience for the tamariki to be apart of and gain knowledge around what puanga represents within our district.

Whakapiki ake ki te taumata

The rise of Puanga heralds the beginning of te tau hou in Whangaroa - a time for commemoration, contemplation and celebration 💫

Whangaroa are marking the Puanga-Matariki over three weekends in June to bring together the community 🌊 to reflect on the past, explore the present and plan for the future.

🌑Whiro me te Ohoata o te Pipiritahi 🌘
The opening weekend (June 11-12) will begin with a wānanga and pūrakau with notable practitioners Rueben Taipari-Porter and Harry Clarke at Te Tapui Marae.

The next morning a dawn vigil will take place with local kaumatua and kuia guiding the blessings 🪐 on the ātea of Te Tapui marae. Followed by parakuihi and wānanga on environmental issues within the rohe.

For more information on the opening weekend and the upcoming events, contact Susan Apiata (021 221 9761).

Kia ora

Hope everyone is having a happy and safe Christmas/New years.

A reminder we are closed due to maintenance and cleaning (plus giving the teachers some time with their tamariki and whanau).

Our open date is Monday 18th January 2021 for those who advised their tamariki will be returning that week.

Otherwise we look forward to seeing everyone when they return in February.

We also currently have spaces available for new enrollments heading into 2021 so for those who are looking to enroll their tamariki into an Early Childhood Centre please feel free to give us a ring or call in from the 18th of January.
