I haere mātou ki te whakataetae whutupaoro ~ Today we went to the zone football competition.

Tama-nui-te-rā was out, the team spirt was high, the footballs were flying into the net and we, Rimu School, were lucky to be surrounded by our supportive whānau - to say it was a great day at the Southern Zone Football Tournament is an understatement.

This time last week our kura grounds were filled with kuri (dogs), reme (lambs), kuao kau (calves), ngeru (cats), poni (pony), rapeti (rabbits) and a heihei (chicken) as we celebrated our annual school Pet Day. The hall was filled with some outstanding crafts - a great job undertaken by all that entered.

Thank you to everyone that came along on the day to support - much appreciated. Thank you Rimu School Whānau for all you did in leading up to the day, as well as on the day. Nga mihi RHSC these events are not possible without you!

This week we have been celebrating NZ Maths Week with some great in class challenges and several lunch time activities. On Tuesday we had a great turn out for the lunch time maths scavenger hunt. The tamariki had to work together to find specific patterns and shapes around our school. Once they found each of the 9 things they were searching for, they took a photo and returned back to class for a prize! Take a look at the scavenger hunt and the creative photos that were taken.
