As the Board for Newfield Park School - Te Kura o ngā Purapura - we proudly reaffirm our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

At Newfield Park School, we want to make clear our ongoing commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Even though government rules have changed, our responsibility to honour Te Tiriti in education remains the same. It is part of who we are as a school and how we support our tamariki.

Our vision is for children to be Happy, Caring and Successful, guided by the values of Manaakitanga (kindness), Whanaungatanga (connection), and Ako (learning together). We will keep making sure te reo Māori and tikanga Māori are respected and visible in everyday school life, and that Māori tamariki see their language, culture, and identity celebrated. For us, upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi is about fairness, inclusion, and giving every child the chance to thrive.

We have sent a letter to that effect to the current Minister of Education, the Hon. Erica Stanford.

Office Administrator - Newfield Park School

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm with a 1 hour lunch break (unpaid).

Job Type: Permanent Part Time, (approx. 42 weeks per year, Term time plus one week before Term one commences and one week after the conclusion of Term 4)

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Office Administrator to join our front office team. As the first point of contact for visitors to the school you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment by building and maintaining positive relationships. It is therefore important you have strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of a very diverse working environment and the ability to multitask as required.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

✅Personal assistant to the Principal
✅Greeting students, caregivers and visitors to the school and assisting them with their inquiries
✅Answering phone calls, responding to emails and conveying messages
✅Coordinating new enrolments
✅Overseeing and maintaining student accounts and profiles
✅Daily reconciliation of payments, weekly banking and monthly balancing
✅Handling sensitive situations with discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
✅Looking after the medical room and administering first aid as required

This job requires adaptability and will see the successful applicants working alongside individuals and groups of children providing assistance in a classroom setting.
