We are so proud of Te Kapa Teina o Hēmi Hākena for their awesome performance last week at Murihiku Polyfest. They've been working so hard towards this performance and that was evident on stage. We are so grateful to Miharo for all of their mahi to give us this opportunity, and to our whānau and kaiako for their support. Whiria te tākata!

James Hargest Junior and Senior Campus students had the most amazing day at Coronet Peak yesterday. While the wind and rain was howling in Southland, light snow flurries and excellent conditions were waiting for the group. For many this was their first time skiing or snowboarding, so to get up there to these conditions was a real plus.

Thanks to the staff and helpers who went along for the day. It will definitely be a highlight of 2026 for many of the students who went along.

The JHC ski trip is still on tomorrow! However, due to weather conditions the skiing will now take place at Coronet Peak.
Junior Campus Bus leaves at 5:15am.
Senior Campus Bus will be leaving at 5:45am. ⛷️

The girls’ 10 a-side rugby team played at sunny Waiau Star this afternoon and came away with 2 wins V’s Waiau Star and Māruawai. Well done!

Junior Campus: NZAS Southland Science & Technology Fair

We are so proud of everyone who entered the NZAS Southland Science & Technology Fair! Last Friday evening, 18 of our students were recognised at the prizegiving, celebrating their hard work, creativity and scientific thinking. What an achievement!

A special mention goes to Sam L for his Technology entry, “Rain Again,” which received Gold, the NZAS Excellence in Technology Year 7 & 8 Award, and the NZAS Premier Technology Award. 🏅🏆🙌

The ILT Sing Out is happening soon on September 17th and our Junior Campus Choir (along with many other school choirs) will be sharing a variety of massed and school choir performances. This is always a special event, made even more so with the 80th anniversary this year.
