Inglewood Kindergarten

Inglewood Kindergarten Inglewood Kindergarten provides high quality early childhood education to children aged from two, until they begin school. Enquiries welcome.

Inglewood Kindergarten has provided quality Early Childhood Education in Inglewood for nearly 60 years. We currently have forty children per day, with a ratio of one kaiako for every 10 children. Inglewood Kindergarten has 6 fully qualified and registered kaiako, who implement New Zealand's early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki. We uphold a commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitan

gi partnership in the learning environment. Inglewood Kindergarten offers 30 free hours per week. Our sessions are 8.45am -2.45pm daily with children either attending 3 days (Monday - Wednesday) 2 days (Thursday & Friday) or 5 days for older children. Changing the structure of our kindergarten days and times, has meant that tamariki on the waiting list and other community children will be able to experience the fantastic opportunity Inglewood Kindergarten has to offer sooner rather than later. All enquiries are welcome. Please phone us on 06 756 7649 or call in and see us at 2 Ngaio Street, Inglewood.

Today we came together to support Daffodil Day and the Cancer Society. 🌼

Today we wore yellow, explored lots of yellow art and craft materials, and got creative with our own daffodil-inspired creations. We also experimented with coloured dye and fresh daffodils, watching closely to see how the flowers changed — a little bit of science and a lot of curiosity! 🔬🌼

We were also very proud to hand over all the coins we had collected to the Cancer Society. Thank you to our tamariki, whānau and community for getting behind this special cause. Every little bit helps. 💛

🥶 Brrr… what a chilly week we had last week!

It was so cold that we decided to put Jack Frost to the test. We filled buckets, pots, and pans with water and placed them around the playground, wondering… would it get cold enough overnight to freeze? ❄️🧊

Well… Jack Frost did not disappoint! 🌨️

Learning about science has never been so cool! 🥶🧊

Matariki prep is in full swing at Inglewood kindy today. We have been busy peeling and chopping some of our kai for our soup. This was a great way to connect and see the achievement of tamariki. “I did it” was heard a lot! Such a great sense of achievement and coming together.

This week we had Paige from our local library come in to visit kindy. She brought along some special hand-picked books from the library to share with our tamariki.

The children really enjoyed listening to the stories and looking through the books together. It was a lovely visit and a great way to connect with our local library and share a love of reading.
