The kind of team journey we don't want is described by Ian Malcolm in the movie The Lost World: Jurassic Park: "Oooh! Ahhh! That's how it always starts. Then later there is the running and the screaming."(ImDb, (1997). The Lost World: Jurassic Park. universal Pictures.)
To avoid the running and screaming part we need a plan i.e. an easy to understand framework and a process to follow, with a deepened understanding of team behaviour. TetraMap effectively displays the tools and keys to make this happen in a TetraMap course designed by TetraMap.com. TetraMap is a trademark of TetraMap International. As a facilitator I can highly recommend giving your team the opportunity to take this fun and constructive learning on board to create a firm foundation for your team and to futureproof against surprises-prehistoric or otherwise!!. Be ready for the challenges ahead and carve out the opportunities.

Our brains can respond reflexively and, with reason and observation, learn appropriate and inappropriate responses. Albert Bandura observed that behaviour was often learnt before it was performed i.e. someone else had performed the behaviour in front of us. How we respond to this act depends upon the outcome we observed. If the outcome was successful then that behaviour we observed provided a positive reinforcement (Bandura, 1971), Has watching someone you admire perform an action or behaviour ever embeeded itself in your memory with an aspiration to do the same. By discovering your nature and the nature of others we can appreciate how strong a diversified and inclusive team can be when making decisions and performing actions.
How to get everyone on the same playing field to recognise what each other brings to the game or the table can be difficult. TetraMap International has found a way by using Nature as an easy and clever metaphor to explain why we are like we are and why others are like they are. www.tetramap.co.nz
Valuing your team members by understanding their behaviours will advance and encourage skillsets out of the back locker room and motivation will have no problem being at its peak performance. The dangers of groupthink will not exist, if team members know their value and worth to the team.
At Motivational Mountains, we aware that when teams come out to Tree Heart Park, Hunua, they might arrive in their subsets, but by giving the team time in another environment to safely bring down the walls that might exist between team members or team groups, creates a fresh, new plan forward. Cross connections, character displays, needs and wants as well as mentorships begin to be expressed and exist where they did not before.
For this reason we have developed an idea for you to consider.
Like a story it has a beginning, a middle and an end.
1. THE BEGINNING: A light and fun Ice-Breaker in the form of a TEAM ADVENTURE CLUE TRAIL. It involves a journal, a piece of history, a good deed, a letter to a dragon, a negative to wash away, a beacon of hope, a dream web, a heart tree, a reflection and Granny Ma's honey.
"Dare to explore? Then come along,
Through Heart Tree trails both wild and strong.
From creek to hut, far far beyond,
Discover the bond that lies lifelong."
2. A MIDDLE: Building a firm foundation and a goalset with one of the recommended TetraMap course developed by TetraMap International. www.tetramap.com
