The Secret Garden Preschool - Huapai Come Grow With Us! Our beautifully renovated space is designed for a maximum of 30 children aged from 2 years to school starting age.

Our large open plan indoor space is light and sun filled with a covered outdoor UV protected area for children in summer and a warm enclosed sunny patio just perfect for messy activities in winter! With over 1000 square meters of lush grass lawn, complete with mature fruit trees, a magical wooden playground and fabulous sand play pit for creative construction, The Secret Garden really is the perfect place for discovering and learning both inside and out. It is our aim that all children at The Secret Garden receive a wide range of rich learning experiences whilst they feel 'at home' in a genuinely warm and nurturing environment. Children are encouraged to develop their personal capabilities, strengths, interests and learning styles. Our experienced team of professional Early Childhood Educators strive to ensure each and every child at The Secret Garden LOVES their time at preschool and has their individual needs met with love, patience and understanding. Our teachers encourage children to think for themselves, make decisions and work towards their own solutions, by expressing their own ideas and feelings. We work together closely with parents and families to ensure all of our children are happy, healthy and fufilling their absolute potential for learning. We feel it is a privilege to play such an important part in nurturing and guiding your children through their preschool years and we genuinely love what we do.

Today The Secret Garden Huapai turns 11 years old! 💚🌿

It’s hard to put into words what this place means to me, because I have been lucky enough to be part of The Secret Garden since before day one — from the planning, dreaming and excitement of what it could become, to watching it grow into the very special place it is today.

Over the past 11 years, so many amazing children and families have walked through our gates, and each one has become part of our story. We have had the privilege of watching little people grow, learn, laugh, make friendships and create memories that we hope stay with them for a lifetime.

I have also been incredibly lucky to work alongside so many wonderful teachers over the years — people who have brought their own love, energy, creativity and care to The Secret Garden and helped make it what it is.

There have been countless adventures, celebrations, messy days, funny moments, hugs, tears and SO much laughter. Most of all, there has always been so much fun.

I feel very grateful and proud to have been part of this journey from the very beginning, and to still be here 11 years later doing something I love, with such an incredible community around us.

Happy 11th Birthday, The Secret Garden Huapai. Here’s to all the beautiful memories already made and many more still to come. 💚🌿🎂

🌈 Colour Week at The Secret Garden Huapai! 🌈

The children have LOVED learning about colours this week! 🎨✨

We’ve been exploring colours through lots of fun, hands-on experiences — mixing, creating, experimenting and discovering what happens when colours come together. 💛💙❤️💚🩷

From messy art to colourful creations, our tamariki have been busy using their imaginations, developing their creativity and building their understanding of colour through play.

There have been plenty of “WOW!” moments, happy discoveries and lots of colourful fun! 🌈💫

What a wonderful week of learning, creating and exploring together! ❤️💛💚💙🩷🧡

Our tamariki have been busy getting their hands messy and creative, crafting the cutest little clay frogs! Using special techniques like scratch and slip to join pieces together, the children explored shaping, building, and bringing their ideas to life — before adding their own colourful touches with paint 🎨

There was so much excitement, focus, and pride as each frog took on its own unique personality. Moments like these are where creativity, confidence, and imagination truly shine 💚

We absolutely can’t wait to see what we create next!

Another fun time celebrating World Downs Syndrome Day with our friend Max this year 🤍
The Auckland Down Syndrome association have celebrated Rock Your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day for many years.
It started because socks look a bit like chromosomes - people with Down Syndrome have an odd number of these.
BUT! The best thing about it - is that it gets people talking about Down Syndrome.
It’s a great way to introduce the topic of Celebrating Diversity and can lead onto some discussions about how to better include people with Down syndrome. .yoursockss
