🚢🌍 Off on Noah’s Ark to see the world! 🦁🐘

This week, we have been using our interest in weather to learn about Noah and his ark. We’ve explored the story together and brought our learning to life through our outdoor play, creating our very own Noah’s Ark adventure. 🌧️🌈🐒

It’s been wonderful to see the children’s imaginations grow as they explore, create and retell this special story through play. 💙

This week has been all about weather! ☀️🌧️❄️

We’ve been learning about snow, sunshine and rain, exploring how each one changes the world around us. But our favourite of all? 🌈 The rainbow!

It’s all in the detail 🖌️

From our youngest to our oldest, it’s such a joy to watch as they explore art and their creativity. We love taking the time to observe, notice and celebrate the little details in their learning. 🤍

Cook Island Language Week 🏝️

This week we’ve been immersed in Cook Island language and culture. We crafted ei katu (flower headbands) using both glue sticks and PVA glue to attach the flowers. We’ve also picked up a few phrases in Cook Island Māori, including kia orana (hello) and Peʻea koe? (how are you?).

We also learnt one of our favourite songs “my god loves me” in cook island Māori.

To conclude the week, we explored the swirly patterns found on shells using watercolours.

A frosty day doesn't stop us from having fun! ❄️

Out came the toboggan, rosy cheeks, icy hands, and plenty of laughter. Exploring all kinds of weather helps children build resilience, confidence, and a love for the outdoors.

Our Shining Stars started the new term with a trip to the local supermarket! 🛒✨

With a shopping list and an item to find, the children carefully searched the shelves and worked together to collect everything we needed.

On Wednesday, Ms Leaf used our groceries to make a delicious soup. 🥣 Everyone had a turn peeling and chopping vegetables, taking pride in helping prepare our shared meal.

These real-life experiences help children build confidence, develop independence, practise teamwork, and strengthen their fine motor skills while learning through hands-on experiences.

✨ Matariki ✨

As we celebrate Matariki, we pause to reflect with thankful hearts—for our families, our community, and God's many blessings. May this season be one of hope, gratitude, and new beginnings.

To celebrate the end of term two, a group of wonderful parents organised a disco for all our kindy families to enjoy. There was dancing, a limbo competition and lots of fun for everyone.
