After watching Marilyn fix our fence the other day, this morning the tūī tamariki have been enjoying the tools as they build and fix the outside area. They were tightening up the screws and bolts, drilling the holes, chopping the wood, hammering the screws by using correct tools. They enhanced their fine motor skills and hand to eye coordination while maintaining the ability to control their hands movements.

This morning the Pukeko tāmariki explored the rockets outside and took turns at each having a go and seeing how high they could fly their rockets once it took off from the stands. Lots of great turn taking and supportive communication skills was occuring with this exciting experience. Ka Pai Pukeko’s!
