National Youth Drama School NZ Taiohi Whakaari ā-Motu: NYDS 🌟
Returns 10-18 April 2027 The school features a range of courses.

The National Youth Drama School is held annually at Havelock North High School in beautiful Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, providing innovative, quality tuition through a wide range of classes. Students aged from 14 to 19 come from all over NZ and beyond, to learn about various aspects of theatre and film, meet new people and have fun. The National Youth Drama School was established in 1991 and is a Charitable Trust. The aim is to provide professional tuition of the highest standard in Theatre, Dance-Movement, Singing, Technical, and Film disciplines to 14-19-year-olds.

An important update regarding NYDS Sharings of Work.

Given the extreme weather warnings, the NYDS Board and Management have decided that NYDS 2026 will now officially conclude on Saturday night, with no sharings, gatherings, classes or activities scheduled for Sunday 12 April.

We are closely monitoring a severe weather system forecast to impact much of the North Island, which may affect travel plans as students prepare to return home.
