I am seriously considering a guide to 'O What a Lovely War' as a companion piece to the ever-popular War Poetry.

I watched it again recently, for the first time in decades, and was impressed by its excellence on numerous levels, and the fact that it is both still relevant and hasn't dated. Expressions of interest welcomed.

I recently received a lovely email message from a happy teacher:

"Just started Wes Anderson movies for the second time. Last year my 13s loved it and began wearing red beanies and light blue overalls to class. Thanks again for a truly inspiring guide. At the end of the year the class gave me that lovely book by Matt Zoller Seitz. Such are the joys of teaching."

I am on the home stretch of the new guide to 'Get Out'. It is a really good movie and will be great to teach, though restricted to senior students - R16, because of the language, I assume.

I am in the middle of writing a new guide - to 'Get Out', the movie that should have won Best Picture at this year's Oscars. What a brilliant film this will be to teach - though alas only to older students since it is R rated. I'm away for three weeks from Thursday so it won't be finished until later in May, I think. Watch this space!

Now I have to work out how to change the address in the banner above!

I have started working on a new set of PowerPoints, to complement the 'Introduction to Film Techniques', looking at storytelling via film.

No idea when it will be ready; it is slow work.

The guide to 'Hidden Figures' is nearly finished - just doing the final proofreads and checks. Another few days at most.

I am making good progress on my new guide to 'Hidden Figures', now that I have a DVD to work from. It will be ready in a few weeks, I hope.
