Two things have brought me great joy this week: the game Go Bum (Go Fish, but far more entertaining!) and the incredible work all my students have done, especially this very clever young man.

To celebrate Dyslexia Awareness Month this October, we’re giving away a copy of the incredible book I Am Dyslexic by Chanelle Moriah (with a free, super-useful reading ruler!)

I pre-ordered this book from Wardini books for myself and picked it up today. After looking through it, I went straight back in to grab another copy to give away.

Chanelle has also written an amazing book on ADHD, which is not only informative but full of practical tips for navigating and understanding it. I’d highly recommend it to anyone with ADHD, who thinks they might have it, knows someone with it, or just wants to learn more.

The incorporation of custom images into custom stories has been a huge success with my students. Not surprisingly, stories that include toilet humour are highly engaging for 7 and 8 year old boys.

This year three boy has some beautiful handwriting! Not only that, but he is doing so well with his revision work of his spelling.
We love seeing progress like this!

This amazing boy has been not only making amazing progress with his spelling and handwriting but also his reading and phonological awareness, all his hard work is paying off!

Working on some revision today of our doubling rules today with consonant +le. Helping our students understand the complexities of English language is part of what we love.
