Over the last couple weeks nga tamariki have been learning about the Koru 🌀

Exploring the koru, our tamariki are gaining
opportunities to notice, describe and create patterns, while developing their understanding of shape, space and relationships through meaningful play and experiences. 🌿

🎣 Catch of the Day! 🐟

Our tamariki have been busy pretending to fish, exploring Te Matau a Māui and creating their own fishing rods. Tamariki are using imagination and play to make connections between their cultural knowledge, home experiences and the world around them. 🌿🩵

🌺 Epetoma o te reo Māori Kūki ‘Airani 🌺

This week we have been celebrating Cook Island Language Week, embracing the culture and language through arts and crafts, learning new songs and learning new kupu. A special thank you to Zaliyah for her wonderful performance, which brought joy and excitement to our celebration. ❤️💚💙

What a beautiful morning celebrating Matariki with our tamariki and whānau. Together we shared waiata, kōrero, delicious kai, and planted together to mark the season of new beginnings and growth. 🍃

💜🎉 Celebrating 100 Years of New Zealand Kindergartens! 🎉💜

Today our tamariki at Camberley Kindergarten joined kindergartens across Aotearoa in celebrating the New Zealand Kindergarten Centennial (1926–2026).

For 100 years, kindergartens have supported generations of children to thrive through play-based learning, strong relationships, and a deep sense of community. 📚 ✨

We are proud to continue this legacy with our amazing tamariki and whānau.

🌿 World Environment Day – Friday 5th June 🌿

Today we celebrated World Environment Day by spending time in our māra, giving it a well-deserved refresh and planting a new feijoa tree. 🪏🪴

At Camberley Kindergarten, we take pride in being caring kaitiaki of our environment. Through hands-on experiences such as gardening and planting, our tamariki are learning the importance of nurturing and protecting Papatūānuku, our Earth Mother. 💚

We look forward to watching our feijoa tree grow and flourish alongside our tamariki. 🍃

Our tamariki enjoy harvesting from our Maara Kai and this day we picked up our fresh feijoas.🌿

Together we turned our harvest into delicious feijoa cake and refreshing feijoa fizz, a hands-on experience full of learning, teamwork, and creativity. Mā te mahi ka ora. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾✨

Moments like these help our tamariki connect with nature, understand where food comes from, and build confidence through real-life skills.
From garden to table, every step is a chance to explore, learn, and grow 💚 He kai kei aku ringa. 🌱

Nau mai, hoki mai ki Camberley Kindergarten 💚
It’s been a great start to the year as our tamariki start to return and reconnect. We farewell those tamariki heading off to kura, and we welcome our new tamariki and whānau to our community. We are also excited to welcome and introduce Helen, our new kaiako Matua.
Also, check out the revival of our māra kai too — it’s thriving! 🌱.
