From the classroom to the community... and the basketball court!

A huge congratulations to Isaac Cox, recipient of the 2025 Sport Hawke's Bay Outstanding Achievement Award!

Isaac has excelled in the EIT Hawke's Bay Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science programme and is already making a positive impact across Hawke's Bay through his work with Arena Fitness, helping people of all ages and abilities build confidence, strength and healthier lifestyles.

And if that wasn't enough, he's also continuing to chase excellence on the court as a member of the Barrel Hawks

We're incredibly proud to celebrate Isaac's achievements and the bright future ahead of him. He joins a growing list of outstanding graduates, including Mel Goodchild and Michael Bush, who are already making a difference in our local sport, recreation, health and wellbeing sector.

Congratulations to (L-R) Murdoch Beckett, Blaze Parker, Soloman Haynes and Bronson Strickland-Russell (absent), for being selected into the Hawkes Bay Rugby - Te Matau a Māui U17 Rugby Team. They have already played and won their first game.

Our Junior Leaders had an awesome time at Frimley Park this week supporting the Frimley School Cross Country!

Serving our neighbouring school community is a vital part of being an HGHS Junior Leader. Opportunities like this give our students a chance to develop valuable leadership and communication skills while demonstrating Whanaungatanga.

Our leaders did an amazing job bringing high energy and encouraging all the primary school runners. A special shoutout to past Frimley students Vardeep Kaur and Anamika Sandhu, who returned to their former primary school as proud HGHS Leaders!
