Your voice matters 💚

The Government is currently reviewing how early childhood education is funded in New Zealand. As part of this process, Heretaunga Kindergartens is preparing a submission, and we'd love to hear directly from our whānau.

By completing our short survey, you'll help us advocate for the things that matter most, including high-quality kindergarten education, 100% qualified kaiako, and positive outcomes for tamariki, whānau and our communities.

Complete our 5-minute survey here: https://form.jotform.com/261867157805063

*Prize draw: One $50 supermarket voucher will be drawn for each kindergarten. Winners must be current or past whānau of Heretaunga Kindergartens, and eligibility will be confirmed by the relevant Kaiako Matua before the prize is awarded.

Mānawatia a Matariki!
Ngā mihi o te Tau Hou Māori ki a tātou katoa.

Matariki is a time to remember those who have gone before us, celebrate the present, and look ahead with hope for the future. It is also a time to reflect on the connections that bring us together as whānau, communities, and learners.

As we celebrate Matariki, we're sharing our Heretaunga Kindergartens waiata once again. Gifted by Te Whetu Werohia Tipiwai and beautifully sung by Whitney Nohokau and her brother Matiu, this waiata reflects the heart of who we are.

It celebrates our tamariki, honours their unique strengths, and reminds us that they are ngā rangatira mō āpōpō, the leaders of tomorrow. Like the Matariki stars, may they continue to shine brightly as they grow, learn, and thrive.

Mānawatia a Matariki. 💚

Have Your Say on Early Childhood Education...

NZEI Te Riu Roa is inviting parents and whānau to take part in their 2026 Kōriporipo Parent and Whānau Survey.

The survey gathers the experiences and perspectives of families across Aotearoa and helps build a clearer picture of what high-quality early childhood education looks like, the challenges facing the sector, and the changes that would make the biggest difference for tamariki and whānau.

The information collected contributes to a national report that helps inform conversations about the future of early childhood education in New Zealand.

If you'd like to share your thoughts and experiences, we encourage you to take part.
