NOHO TUATAHI

History has been made today with our first Year 3 & 4 Noho Marae at Houngarea. We are very excited to begin this overnight experience with our tamariki.

Te Rere tamariki and whānau arrived at the marae at 5pm. We began with a Mihi Whakatau, followed by the tamariki starting their mahi with tikanga and then listening to a pūrākau inside the whare.

The tamariki were eager to get there. The energy has been high, and they are having a blast!

Here you go, whānau — check out some of the photos from today. Your children are warm, happy and learning lots.

Bedtime is shortly, and tomorrow there will be more learning, fun and memories made together.

Heretaunga Ararau

Yesterday, our tamariki from Heretaunga ararau went on a trip to do some further learning about maunga at the MTG in Napier. They also went to the Omni Gym to test out their gymnastic skills. They finished with lunch and a play at the Marine Parade park. The kids had so much fun.

YEAR 6 Transition

On Monday, the whole year 6 cohort went along to the Heretaunga Intermediate Tech Taster day. The students participated in some Tech rotations and they had so much fun trying something new. This experience helps our students prepare for the next step of their education.

A reminder that next Wednesday is the Open Evening for Heretaunga Intermediate.

YEAR 6 TRANSITION

Today, a group of 21 students went along to the Hastings Intermediate Tech Taster day. This is an opportunity to be in the school for a day and get a feel for it. Our kids came back buzzing!

Next week all of our year 6 students go to Heretaunga for their Tach Taster day.

Talofa lava,

Last Wednesday, Frimley School hosted the Hastings Primary Schools Pasifika Leadership Day. We were thrilled to host more than outstanding leaders from across 11 schools! Thank you to Hastings Girls High School who sent some amazing young leaders to support our programme.

We opened the day with a special guest speaker emerging Māori reggae artist Tawhaki, who shared about his journey in life. Tawhaki inspired our young leaders to aim for the sky and beyond whilst being true to who they are and standing strong in their cultural identity!

Following on from our guest speaker the tamariki took part in workshops on cultural art, Pasifika games, taonga to the Pasifika cultures and Cook Island dance!

It was a wonderful celebration of culture and connectedness. We look forward to our next Pasifika Leaders Day in term 4!

Fa'afetai lava,
Jodie 🌺
