Today, we paused to celebrate the heart of Sacred Heart - our artists! ❤

At our Arts Assembly, we came together to recognise some incredible student achievements, witness their talents on stage, and hear the stories behind the mahi. Moments like these remind us why the arts matter.

Congratulations to all of our students who performed and were recognised in this special assembly.

Kia ora e te whaanau - along with many schools across the motu this week, we take the opportunity to be reminded of the Gospel values we put into action each day - aroha mai, aroha atu!

Not only are we called to “love one another as I have loved you” (thank you, Jesus!), we are also called to ‘take care of the children: see they are treated with kindness and consideration’ (thanks, Euphrasie!). Naa reira, our ‘mana whakahau’ is to uphold the dignity of all - our students, staff and whaanau - so we can flourish and become our true, authentic selves. Sacred Heart is a place where rangatahi, especially, find a place of belonging and inclusion: known, valued and loved - like the Woman at the Well, who encountered Jesus at his most radical and counter-cultural moment (and we’re here for that!).

For our students navigating questions of belonging, identity and purpose, we believe that the wisdom of the Gospel is less about finding a label and all about becoming the person we are called to be.
We also believe that our diversity is beautiful, not a problem, and not a task to become perfect - only more fully alive, more fully human and more towards our true selves - he tangata, he tangata, he tangata!

So, whaanau, this week, like every week, we will be walking alongside our community, supporting a journey that unfolds through aroha, manaakitanga, courage and understanding - and that’s our whakahii/pride to celebrate - our Culture of Care.

Kia akiaki te mana o ngaa tamariki - take care of the children - uphold their God-given mana.

Kia pai te wiki.

Our newly formed choir, Sacred Singers, made their debut at Big Sing last week — and what a debut it was! They performed three stunning pieces: Ave Verum Corpus by Mozart, Sing a New Song by David Gordon, and E Minaka Ana arranged by Mei-Li Hayes. The Troupe also graced the stage with two beautiful performances.

The talent didn't stop there! Our chamber groups also took to the stage at the NZCT Chamber Music Contest — the largest and longest-running chamber music event of its kind in the country.

🎵 Notes in Motion
(Dianne Urrea, Michaela Yana and Kaela Cawley) performed Telemann

🎵 Sacred Seniors
(Mary Elise Yana, Micah Duran and Zara McIntyre) performed Haydn

Winter sports are in full swing and our Player of the Day winners are being rewarded in the most delicious way possible! 🍕🏆

A massive shout-out to our legends at Sal's Authentic New York Pizza NZ for generously donating Player of the Day certificates to our sports Queens throughout the season - we love this partnership!

These well-deserving players will be heading to Sal's on Victoria Street to celebrate their hard work with a slice (or three) of Hamilton's best pizza.

Thank you, Sal's, for backing our young athletes! 🩷

What a beautiful way to close out Spirit Week.

Sacred Heart Day brought the whole kura together - from a special Mass at the Cathedral to a day full of energy, laughter, and house spirit. And the Dance Off was absolutely electric!

Congratulations to Siena House — their Mamma Mia routine took the crown for 2026! 🩷🩷

Happy Sacred Heart Day to our beautiful Sacred Heart community across New Zealand and Australia.

This morning we came together for Mass with our Mission Sisters to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus - a feast that places Christ's love, compassion, and mercy for humanity at the centre of everything.

June is the month of the Sacred Heart - and today, we pause to remember why this devotion has shaped our school, our values, and our community for generations.

Ngā mihi maioha ki a koutou katoa - warm wishes to you all on this special day. ❤
