Last week, we were lucky to have Karl Le Couteur — Karl Le Couteur come and speak at our Friday Social event. Sharing experiences as First Officer (ATPL), St John Volunteer EMT, Content Creator of the sky and overall aviation enthusiast.
One of his most captivating stories covered his visit to Tira Ora Nature and Wildlife Reserve in the Marlborough Sounds — a remote slice of paradise with its own 530m runway. Karl shared the story of designing his own landing, fostering a memorable experience with the steward of the land and learning about the unique history behind this remarkably remote place.
It was a great reminder that one of the best things about aviation is the access it gives you to places, and people, you might otherwise never encounter. As well as developing the skills and instincts for adventure and safety.
Thank you for your time Karl. Stay tuned for details on our next Friday Social event. ✈️
