On the 13th September, Fairfield College hosted this year’s International Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK), with around 50 candidates taking part.

It was wonderful to see our students challenge themselves and put their Chinese skills to the test. 📚✨

🌏 Year 13 Geography | Waitomo Caves

Today, Mr Aughton and Miss B took our Year 13 Geography students to Waitomo Caves, providing an incredible opportunity to experience the Waitomo Karst landscape firsthand.

Students completed both the Ruakuri Cave Tour and the Labyrinth Black Water Rafting Experience, immersing themselves in the unique geological features and processes that have shaped this remarkable environment.

This hands-on learning experience will be invaluable as students prepare for their upcoming Geography external assessment, which focuses on the formation and development of the Waitomo Karst landscape.

A fantastic day of learning beyond the classroom! 🌿🪨🗺️

🩸 Fairfield College Annual Blood Drive 🩸

On Wednesday, 16 September, Fairfield College held our Annual Blood Drive, bringing together students and staff to support this incredibly important cause.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated blood and to all those who supported the event. Your generosity and willingness to help others can make a life-changing difference.

A very special thank you to Cole Taylor, Zolene Smit, Anara Jamieson, Jayda Embleton and Malachi Symons for organising and running the event. Your commitment, organisation and enthusiasm were outstanding.

ATTENTION: whaanau of current Year 11 and Year 12 students.

Our Social Sciences department is excited to present an opportunity to our whaanau regarding Year 12 and 13 students travelling to Japan in 2027. This trip is scheduled to depart in September 2027.

This trip is an opportunity for our students to experience new cultures, explore urban environments and visit important historical places.

This opportunity is for Year 12 and 13 students who are taking one of the following Social Sciences subjects ; History, Geography and Tourism.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

Kia ora Fairfield College students and whaanau,

Please be advised that on Tuesday 15 September, Fairfield College will finish early for all students.

School will conclude at 1:00 pm, and students will be dismissed at that time.

The structure for the day will consist of:
8:55 – 10:05: Period 1 - 70 min
10:05 – 11:15: Period 2 - 70 min
11:15 – 11:50: BREAK - 35 min
11:50 – 1:00 - Period 3 - 70 min
School finishes at 1pm.

This early finish will allow staff to participate in important professional development, including training to develop and refresh essential first aid skills. This professional learning supports our commitment to providing a safe and well-prepared environment for all students.

We appreciate your support and ask that families make the necessary arrangements for students to be collected or to travel home from 1:00 pm.

If your child will require supervision here at school after this time, please contact Mr MacPherson via email at [email protected] so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
