"CHANGE"

One of my favourite things to watch in our teen Drama class is improv - and I am continually amazed by how quickly these students can think on their feet!

In this game, the scene has already begun... but at any moment they can hear “CHANGE!” and suddenly have to change what they've just said or done, while somehow keeping the story going. 😄

It looks like great fun - and it is! - but underneath all the laughter they're developing some pretty impressive skills: quick thinking, listening, creativity, confidence, teamwork and learning to say YES to whatever their fellow performers throw at them.

And somehow... they just keep the scene going! 😂👏

This is Drama at Excite Academy — creating, thinking, performing and having a whole lot of fun along the way. 🎭💚

🎹 A very proud piano moment! 💚

I was so excited on Friday to see these three girls absolutely fly through their Simply Music Foundation Level 3 test!

Emily, Anaya and Ahisma are such a wonderful match as a group. They learn beautifully together, encourage one another and somehow seem to keep progressing at the same pace - which makes them such a joy to teach.

They worked hard for this achievement and thoroughly deserved their certificates.

Congratulations, girls! Foundation Level 3 complete - bring on Level 4! 🎶🎹

In our vocal lessons for kids, students learn to develop their voice while building confidence through singing, movement, expression and performance - all in a fun, encouraging environment.

We love watching young singers grow in confidence, discover what their voices can do, and find the courage to express themselves through music. 💚

Our beautiful vocal team. 💕🎤 On the night of our Term 2 Recital.

These three incredible ladies pour so much into encouraging, inspiring and building confidence in our vocal students, and we're so grateful to have them as part of the Excite Academy family.

There's a little story behind this photo...

Between the rehearsal and recital, Tammy was involved in a car accident just outside the church entrance on her way home. Thankfully she wasn't injured, but her car was written off.

Most people would have completely understood if she'd called it a day.

Instead, friends came to help, she went home, got changed, and quietly returned in time for the recital - with the same beautiful smile she always wears. She didn't tell anyone what had happened until after the performance.

That's the kind of commitment and heart our teachers have for their students.

Thank you, Tammy, Kealey and Kate, for sharing your gifts so generously and for making our Vocal Recital such a special evening. We appreciate each one of you more than words can say. ❤️

🇮🇪 Welcome Home Soon, Ann! 💕🎻

Our wonderful violin teacher, Ann, has been having the most delightful time back home in Ireland over the past five weeks. From catching up with family and friends to enjoying every opportunity to dress up (which we all know she loves! 😊), it's been so lovely seeing her adventures.

As much as we've enjoyed following her journey, we're so excited that she'll be back in New Zealand at the end of this week and returning to violin lessons next week.

Safe travels home, Ann. We've missed your beautiful smile, your enthusiasm, and the joy you bring to every lesson. We can't wait to have you back at Excite Academy! ❤️🎻

A high-energy class combining singing, movement, performance and creativity to help young performers shine on stage.

Both classes are taught by our wonderful Kealey, whose passion, enthusiasm and encouragement help every child grow in confidence while having an amazing time.

I am always blown away by how synchronised these two students are. It is pure joy to watch them play together.

Their musical connection is something special, and every performance is full of energy, confidence and fun.

Robin has done an outstanding job mentoring these boys, who are now performing around Trinity Rock & Pop Grades 6–7.

Enjoy their electrifying Queens of the Stone Age medley of "No One Knows" and "Song for the Dead." 🎸🥁
