Remember that a “struggle” must include a DESIRE and a PROBLEM. We cannot struggle with something we do are not fully prepared to do yet based on our natural development.

Are some 5 year olds ready to read? Of course. Are most of them? No.

Pressuring them through forced practice, stress, and performance only creates negative feelings about it, causing more issues when they ARE developmentally ready.
