Waikato Community School of Music

WCSM is a non-profit organization aimed at giving learners, regardless of age or experience, a broad and enjoyable musical experience.

The Hamilton Community Centre of Music is a non-profit organization which has been providing affordable music tuition for many years. Our philosophy is to give all learners, regardless of age or experience, a broad and enjoyable musical experience. Our students include both children and adults, and they all enjoy our special mix of learning and performance opportunities. These include instrumental and theoretical lessons, bands, orchestras, ensembles and from this year our new child-centred Music Makers classes for 3-12 year olds. With over 350 students, and running more than 90 sessions per week, we offer classes at very reasonable prices. HCCM is committed to delivering high quality musical education, and our staff of over twenty experienced tutors all participate in our ongoing Professional Development Programme. We are based in the Faculty of Education in the University of Waikato, and meet on Saturday mornings during term time at the Hamilton campus. 🎼 Start the habit of regular practice by playing/practicing most days - especially on the days that you don't "feel like" practicing.
🎼 Set an achieveable practice timeframe, depending on age and playing level - just 10-20 minutes a day for beginners👍

Good morning and welcome back to music classes. The beginning of winter sport means that we may still need to reschedule some classes after week one, as students leave to do sports for the winter terms or try to fit in sports and music on a Saturday. It can be a bit of a juggling act so please bear with us. Thanks😊

Today is the last day of Term One at WCSM.
It has been challenging and a bit messy at times but here we are, still making music! 🎶
