This week is production week! “Magic School Bus Through Time”. We are so looking forward to seeing all of our Kauri students take the stage.
It’s time to meet the main cast:
Ruby - Meet Mrs. Foote (the enthusiastic, slightly eccentric teacher): Outside of school, Ruby loves being creative and making things. She auditioned for a main role because she thought acting would be fun and was excited to learn lines and perform for an audience. Ruby absolutely loves playing her character and especially enjoys her funny personality and great vibe! Being part of the main cast has been a highlight, from learning lines to working with others. While Ruby feels a little nervous before going on stage, she also feels confident and says it’s all worth it! Ruby has had such a fantastic time in the production that she definitely wants to do more acting in the future!
Ollie - Meet Sammy (he’s the class clown, loves puns): Away from the classroom, Ollie can often be found playing video games, football, and jumping on the trampoline. He is having lots of fun playing his character, especially because he gets to deliver heaps of jokes! Ollie auditioned for a main role simply because he wanted to give it a go. Waiting for his turn has been the most challenging part, but Ollie absolutely loves being on stage and is excited to perform for nearly the whole show. Would Ollie like to do more acting in the future? Yes! He says he’s a great actor and really enjoys it!
Reeve - Meet Nancy (she is brave and adventurous): When Reeve isn’t busy with school, she loves spending time with family and heading to the beach. Reeve enjoys playing her character because she can relate to her brave and adventurous personality. Reeve auditioned for a main role because she felt confident and wanted to try something different. Learning all the lines and dances has been challenging, but Reeve has especially enjoyed spending time with the rest of the cast. Reeve would definitely like to do more acting in the future, enjoying the challenge and the opportunity to express herself and pretend to be someone else. Most importantly, Reeve says it has been so much fun!
Estelle - Meet Annie (our little nervous and worried girl): Outside of school, Estelle loves dancing, especially tap, jazz, and ballet. Estelle auditioned for a main role because, although she's usually nervous, she sometimes likes to step forward and challenge herself. Estelle has really enjoyed bringing her character to life, especially getting to act anxious! One of the biggest challenges has been remembering when it’s her turn to speak, but the best part has definitely been acting and performing. Estelle has had lots of fun being part of the production and would definitely like to do more acting in the future - because it’s fun!
Tōmai - Meet Danni (she is energetic and easily excited): When she is not at school, Tōmai loves dancing and getting creative with crafts. Tōmai is having lots of fun being her character in the production, especially because she has lots of fun things to say! She wanted to audition for a main part because she loves seeing people on stage and shining. The most challenging part of being in the production has been staying focused when other people are talking, but Tōmai is working hard to stay in character and keep her eyes on the action. We can’t wait to see Tōmai shine on stage!
Eloise - Meet Maddie (the bookworm, full of facts!): In her spare time, Eloise loves dancing and enjoys jazz, ballet, tap, and taking part in dance competitions. Eloise loves playing Maddie because she is a fellow bookworm! Eloise auditioned because she loves being on stage and acting. While learning her lines has been one of the biggest challenges, she has loved every moment of performing, especially acting and dancing on stage. Eloise has had a fantastic time being part of the production and would, of course, love to do more acting in the future!
