Kia ora whaanau,

Please be advised that Friday, 18th September will be a Teacher Only day. This day will be used as a day of curriculum and assessment learning for our staff, and has been approved by the Ministry and our school Board.

We will be starting the day with an early morning ceremony, which all students and whaanau are warmly invited to attend. This will be a refresh, reset and reconnect kind of day as we take time to celebrate our journey towards having beautiful, new and warm learning environments and buildings. Students will be required to go home at the conclusion of this - the remainder of the day will be for staff only.

As we all know, this has been a lengthy process and a significant journey for our kura. The exact format and plan for the day is still being confirmed, so watch this space!

JUMP JAM - WE CAME 2nd!!!!!!!!

This afternoon, our very first Jump Jam team proudly represented Crawshaw School at the Waikato Strictly JUMP JAM Competition in the Year 5–8 Freshman Section at Hamilton Boys' High School.

Our students truly embodied our KAHA values throughout their journey:
Whakaakoako – by committing to learning and practising the routine.
Aumangea – by showing courage and confidence as they performed proudly on stage.
Rangatiratanga – by demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and self-discipline throughout their preparation and performance.
Manaakitanga – by encouraging, supporting, and looking after one another every step of the way.

Watching our team perform was an incredibly proud moment. Their accuracy, energy, teamwork, and synchronization were outstanding. They performed the routine with confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing dedication and hard work.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing coaches – Whāea Lisa, Whāea Daisy, and Matua Shaun. Your generosity, patience, encouragement, lunch breaks, and endless energy have made this opportunity possible for our tamariki. We love providing opportunities like this for our students, but they simply couldn't happen without dedicated staff like you. We are so grateful for everything you have invested in this team.

Thank you to all of our wonderful whānau and kaiako who came along to support. Your cheers echoed through the hall, and our students certainly knew they had our community behind them.

Finally, thank you to the team. Thank you for your commitment, perseverance, enthusiasm, and the KAHA you showed when you were on stage. You represented Crawshaw School with confidence, determination, and heart. You should all be immensely proud of yourselves. You have inspired us all, and we couldn't be prouder of what you achieved. Ka rawe, team!

Please remember that whaanau need to pick up their tamariki from the school hall after the disco. We will NOT let them walk home alone.
Junior Disco - Years 0-4 - 4pm-5pm
Senior Disco - Years 5-8 - 5:30 - 7pm

This Thursday we're hosting a Ninja Disco to help raise funds for A***n and Mikaire as they work towards representing NZ at the 2026 Australian National Championships. 🇦🇺
To make things easier on the night, Crawshaw Dollars can be purchased from the school office before the event (they can also be purchased at the disco) These can then be used to buy food, drinks, glow items, and other treats at the disco.
We'd love to see all of our tamariki come along for a fun-filled evening while supporting two of our own. Thank you for helping us make this fundraiser a success!
