🌍 World Environment Day 🌿
Our tamariki were busy environmental champions today, helping to scoop rubbish from the sea and clean up around our centre. Through teamwork and hands-on learning, they explored the importance of caring for our environment and protecting our waterways for future generations.
We are so proud of their enthusiasm, kindness, and commitment to keeping our world clean and healthy. Every small action makes a difference! ♻️💙🌱

“How do my children prepare for school at Educare Peachgrove?”
One of the most common questions from parents! The answer is—school transition happens every day through play, planning, and meaningful learning experiences.
Recently, our Piwakawaka children have been busy creating their own Grocery Orders 🛒
Through this project, they’ve been developing:
❤️Early literacy skills
❤️Mathematical thinking
❤️Independence & problem-solving
❤️Communication & collaboration
What looks like play is actually building the confidence and skills children will take with them into school ✨
Have you noticed your children joining in shopping conversations at home lately?😊

Playdough + nature = limitless learning at Educare Peachgrove. 🍂🍁
When little hands press leaves into dough or balance a pine cone on top, they’re not just "playing". They’re:
❤️Exploring texture, weight, and balance
❤️Building fine motor strength
❤️Using symbolic thinking
Let them squish, poke, and create. That’s how real learning sticks.
What natural loose parts do your children love most?

🤟 NZ Sign Language Week 🤟
Today we were lucky to have Annie visit us and share some sign language with the tamariki. Annie comes in every week from the Mackenzie Centre McKenzie Centre Trust and works alongside one of our tamāriki using NZSL to communicate. It’s such a special part of our learning in the centre.
Our tamariki are surrounded by sign language everyday, and they’re also curious and eager to learn more.
Nga mihi nui Annie, for sharing your knowledge and helping us create a more inclusive space for everyone.
