Our resident chicken-loving legend and truly the living, breathing example of what Future Kids stands for 💛

Diane is one of our foundation kaiako, opening the centre alongside us and helping shape Future Kids into the special place it is today. Her heart, passion, and old-fashioned values are woven through every part of our philosophy and environment ✨

A real number 8 wire wahine, Diane can make, fix, create, grow, and turn just about anything into something magical. She is also an absolute green finger 🌱 with thriving vegetable gardens, beautiful plants, and the kind of knowledge that can bring almost anything back to life. Whether it’s caring for animals, growing produce, creating inviting spaces, or sharing practical life skills with tamariki, Diane brings authenticity and heart into everything she does.

Lucky for us, Diane is also the best neighbour Future Kids could ask for, living just over the back fence with her own little slice of paradise 🏡🌿 Her backyard is like a real-life fairyland filled with chickens, vegetable gardens, flowers, nature, and endless opportunities for wonder and exploration for our tamariki.

And behind many of the beautiful handmade touches around our centre is Diane’s husband Martin — our talented handyman 🔨 Together, the two of them have contributed so much to Future Kids over the years, with Martin building many special pieces for the centre from his workshop using his incredible carpentry skills.

Diane brings warmth, wisdom, creativity, and old-fashioned values into our everyday programme, and we are so grateful to have her as such a special part of our Future Kids whānau

Are you an infant kaiako with a genuine passion for pēpi, nature, sustainability, and Te ao Māori values?
Future Kids is looking for a warm, nurturing, motivated, and enthusiastic kaiako to join our infant team. We are searching for someone who understands the importance of calm, responsive, and respectful care for our youngest tamariki.

At Future Kids, sustainability, kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and ako are woven through our everyday curriculum. Our pēpi are supported to explore the world around them through gentle, meaningful experiences that connect them with Papatūānuku, animals, gardens, sensory play, music, movement, and the natural environment.

We believe that even our youngest learners are capable, curious, and deeply connected to the world around them. Through nurturing relationships, respectful routines, and calm, inviting spaces, we support our infants to feel safe, loved, settled, and ready to discover.

We are looking for a kaiako who:

🐣Has experience working with infants in early childhood education
🐣Builds strong, respectful, and trusting relationships with pēpi, whānau, and the wider team
🐣Understands the importance of responsive care, attachment, and gentle routines
🐣Has a genuine love for infants and values the little moments that make a big difference
🐣Is passionate about sustainability, kaitiakitanga, and caring for our earth
🐣Values Te ao Māori and can support this within everyday teaching practice
🐣Can create meaningful learning experiences that connect pēpi with nature, culture, and community
🐣Is a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to our centre culture

Another one of our original Future Kids whānau members — Fran has been with us since day one and has helped shape the heart of our centre into what it is today 💛

Our weekend animal hero and routine-loving powerhouse, Fran is the kind of person who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes with consistency, dedication, and care. Whether she’s feeding the animals, tending to the gardens, or making sure daily routines are humming along, she brings a calm and steady presence to every space she’s in ✨

Fran is also a total gym queen 💪 and thrives on routine, structure, and staying active. Her love for gardening and the outdoors shines through in the beautiful care she puts into our environment and the experiences she creates for tamariki 🌿

She’s nurturing, reliable, hardworking, and deeply connected to the Future Kids philosophy — the kind of kaiako who quietly makes a huge impact every single day.

Are you a preschool kaiako with a genuine passion for tamariki, nature, sustainability, and Te ao Māori values?

Future Kids is looking for a warm, motivated, and enthusiastic kaiako to join our team. This role is 30–35 hours per week, and we are searching for someone who understands the magic of early childhood and is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that connect tamariki with Papatūānuku, animals, gardens, and the world around them.

At Future Kids, sustainability, kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and ako are woven through our everyday curriculum. Our tamariki are encouraged to explore, discover, care for, and learn from the natural environment, while developing a strong sense of respect, belonging, and responsibility.

From gardens and animals to outdoor play, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections with the whenua, we believe the earth is one of our greatest teachers. We are looking for a kaiako who can bring these values to life in a fun, respectful, and authentic way within children’s learning.
