Scissors, magazines, and a whole lot of imagination βοΈπ
Our career navigator Jo has been running vision board sessions with rangatahi Fairfield Collegeβ mapping out where they want to go, one cut-out at a time.
The thing Jo loved most? Watching students who don't always find their groove with the "traditional" tools completely light up here β piecing together images, colours, and words that actually meant something to them.
That's what we love about this work. Everyone processes their future differently, and sometimes the clearest thinking happens with glue on your fingers, not a pen in your hand.
Different tools, same goal β helping our rangatahi see what's possible for them. π±

Today one of our rangatahi, Michael, planted his very first tree β heβd never even picked up a spade before. He was teamed up with Max, and by the end of the morning the two of them had 10 trees in together. Thatβs exactly what STARS is about: rangatahi backing each other up and learning by doing, side by side.
π³ 500 trees in the ground at Fairfield Gullies! Part of our huge 1,000+ tree week alongside Fairfield College, The Fairfield Project & Enviroschools Waikato π±
Two more planting days to go this week πͺ
Massive thanks to everyone who showed up and got stuck in β youβre what makes this mahi happen ππΏ

Hi-vis on, limitless potential unlocked. β‘π§‘
The Career Navigator crew have been busy! Our girls recently joined Girls with Hi-Vis for not one, but TWO epic industry visits β a tour of Huntly Power Station AND a site tour of Fulton Hogan, one of NZ's leading infrastructure companies.
From towering turbines to heavy-hitting infrastructure, our girls got a front-row look at what careers in energy and construction could look like.
The possibilities are endless. πͺ
Hi-vis has never looked so good. π§‘π¦Ί
