Over the past two weeks, our Bible reading times have focused on prayer as we explored the Lord's Prayer and Hannah's prayer. Through these stories, the children discovered that Jesus taught us how to pray and that Hannah faithfully prayed to God for something very special. Together, we learned that prayer is simply talking to God. Even though we can't see Him, we can talk to Him anytime, anywhere, about anything. It is always so heartwarming to hear the children pray. Their childlike faith, honesty, and trust remind us of the beauty and simplicity of coming to God just as we are.

I wanted to share a few photos from our wonderful Prince and Princess day last week. The fort became a castle with Prince and princess watched the jousting down below. Inside the blocks became castles with paper fire turrets, royal art and craft and lots of ball room dancing in our very fancy royal outfits.
These days are so much fun and we invite you to come and join us at Chapel Hill Kindergarten as we celebrate with the children in their learning.

Scarves are amazing, they are a visual delight and wonderful sensory experience. The light, porous nature of scarf fabric allows air to catch it easily, causing it to swirl around and the scarves make invisible air movement visible, providing hands-on experience with aerodynamics. They bundled them up in their arms and threw them up in the air. We loved the joy on their faces and the way they took delight in the scarves floating around their bodies.

Over the last week we have been exploring Anzac and learning about history. It has been amazing to see so many families researching their family history and the part they played in the war and to hear so many different stories.
Chapel Hill kindergarten has been a hive of activity with poppies made of paper, playdough and bottle tops, New Zealand flags and the National anthem, Marching, field hospitals and digging trenches and of course baking anzac biscuits and reading stories.
To finish of this wonderful week we went for a lovely walk to the local park and enjoyed our freedom.
We hope you all have a wonderful long weekend.

We want to wish you all a wonderful and safe Easter.
Easter is such a wonderful time on the Christian calendar. At Chapel Hill Kindy there isn’t a bunny in site as we focus on Lent and what Jesus did for us all.
In the weeks leading up we remember how the Widow gave all she had and Palm Sunday. Then we explored how the disciples shared the Passover meal together with Jesus washing the disciples’ feet. We made bread rolls and talked a lot about the last supper.
The children have been very creative and found lots of ways to make their own crosses out of flax, sticks and paper. The hot cross buns they made were very delicious and they made the kindy smell fantastic.
Easter has been a time for us to come together and explore its meaning and create special memories (like easter egg hunts). We hope you have fun creating your own family memories as you remember that the resurrection of Jesus Christ means that our sins have been forgiven. Everything that we owe has been washed away. This is all good news worth celebrating!
Kindy open on Tuesday.
