Meadow has won the 2026 nationwide Play it Strange Waiata Māori competition for her composition ‘Poomarie/Say Goodnight’. Meadow is a talented writer, singer and composer. We are so proud of this talented kōtiro☺️🎶

🎶 SONGWRITING SUCCESS: CONGRATULATIONS TO MEADOW PARK! ✨

We are thrilled to share that Hamilton Girls’ High School’s very own Meadow Park has been named the winner of the nationwide 2026 Play It Strange Waiata Māori Competition with her stunning original song, Poomaarie / Say Goodnight! 🎵

Out of a record number of entries from across Aotearoa, judges Noema Te Hau III and Ria Hall chose Meadow’s track, sharing how inspired they were by the incredible quality and diversity of this year’s waiata.

👏🏼 A massive shoutout to Play It Strange for providing young Kiwi artists with such an amazing platform to write, record, and share their original music.

🎭 And as if she wasn’t talented enough... you can also catch this star on stage as Olivia in our upcoming production of Twelfth Night! There are still tickets available through the link in our bio 🔗

This Friday is our annual Pyjama Party Day. We look forward to wearing our PJ’s and having FUN together. A gold coin donation will be much appreciated. All funds will go towards resurfacing our pool.
Next Friday is our school Photo Day. Sibling forms will arrive during the week for any whānau wanting to order sibling photos. A timetable will be put out as well so whānau know approximate times for sibling, class, sports teams, AIMS teams ans student leader photos.

🎉 Save the Date – Monty the Monstar Fun Run! 🎉

This term we are bringing the excitement with a Monty the Monstar Fun Run. It will be on Wednesday 16 September. This is to raise funds for our pool to be resurfaced.

Students will run a course while being showered in vibrant colour powder that’s gluten-free, non-toxic, and biodegradable. All in the name of fun and fundraising for our school.
