Koromatua School

Yesterday, alumni of Koromatua competed in Fire5 Netball Official, NextGen 12-14 age group, It's a bit of a mix between normal netball & indoors, with a few extra rules. Its fast, its fresh, its strategic!

This was the first competition of its kind for this age group. The girls played some tough matches and made it to the semi finals, walking away with $500 in prize money! 🙌🏽 Woohoo!

Carly Gudgeon, Waimarama Corbett, Olive Watene-Wanoa played and were managed by Meredith Gudgeon.

Very proud of our kōtiro! Here’s to many more sporting opportunities for our rangatahi😊

Nevaeh Scirkovich, an alumni of Koromatua school and Head Girl in 2022 has captained MANA College in Porirua last year to qualify for nationals for the first time in 15 years, and followed that up this year with winning the Wellington College Sport Championship and the Zone 3 Lower North Island Regional Title for the first time in over 20 years.
Nevaeh also captained Wellington to their first ever U18 National Championship earlier this year earning All Star Five honours. Now she is blessed to develop this year in the Women’s NBL Tauihi league as a development player with the Tokomanawa Queens as a team mate alongside her inspirational Temple View and Koromatua role model Aria Cowley, and two WNBA players Charlisse Leger-Walker and Hayley Van Lith.
These amazing opportunities have enabled Nevaeh to stand strong in her identity and purpose wherever she has gone since, quietly working hard to continue to pursue her goals of personal excellence and not settling for mediocre outcomes and such a humble player as well. Congratulations Nevaeh🙌🏽👏🏽🎊 We are very proud of you and your accomplishments.

Our Koromatua community are INCREDIBLE✨👏🏽🙌🏽💯 We raised $11,720 from our Monstar Colour FUN run🥰
This is the largest fundraiser our school has ever done and it was EPIC!!!
Thank YOU Koromatua whānau for supporting our kura to raise pūtea for our beloved school pool. Our pool has served this community for many years. Our tamariki learn Swim Safe programmes through Waikato Swimming, participate in school and community events like our school triathlon, school galas, Welcome Back Swim and BBQ and tamariki compete at various inter-school swimming competitions.
We are very grateful to our awesome staff led by Whaea Nelz, Whaea Jessie, Whaea Emelia and Matua Tahi who organised and ran this whole Colour FUN run fundraising campaign. You are all legends💯✨🙌🏽

What an amazing and colourful day! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Monty the Monstar Fun Run yesterday. It was a fantastic event, enjoyed by all, and we’re sure many special memories were made.

Now that the fundraiser has concluded, prize ordering is officially open for the next 7 days and will close on Wednesday 23rd September.

During this time, please log in to myprofilepage.co.nz to select your prizes based on the value of your donations. Students can mix and match up to five prizes.

If you prefer not to order prizes, you can choose to donate your contributions to one of the wonderful causes available. Any students who haven’t selected their prizes after the 7-day period will have prizes automatically assigned.
