What a busy and exciting week we’ve had at Pukete!

This week we celebrated Tonga Language Week, learning to count in Tongan together — such a fun way to explore a new language and culture! 🇹🇴

We also marked Daffodil Day 💛 by creating our very own daffodils, filling the centre with bright colours and joy.

On top of that, our focus on literacy kept us busy during mat time, as the children shared stories and practiced retelling them in their own words. 📚🌟

It’s been a week full of learning, creativity, and community spirit — ka mau te wehi, tamariki! 💛🌼📖

Our little helpers got busy wiping away the morning dew from the playground equipment.

Not only did they make the space ready for play, but they also learned about teamwork, responsibility, and caring for our environment.

Such a beautiful way to start the day! 💛

The tamariki took the lead in reorganising the cubby area where they keep their bags and belongings. With helping hands and cheerful hearts, they worked together to tidy up and give the shelves a good wipe-down.

It was such a joy to see them showing responsibility, care for their environment, and true teamwork.

Ka pai! We are so proud of the way you look after your space and each other.

🕷🐛 Bug Hunt Adventure! 🐞🦋

This week, we are on an exciting Bug Hunt! 🕵️‍♂️. Ngā tamariki have recently shown a growing curiosity about the tiny creatures they spot in the outside, so we followed their interests and created an opportunity to explore, discover, and learn more about the world of bugs.

By extending the children’s interests and giving them space to lead the learning, we supported their natural curiosity, encouraged scientific thinking, and nurtured their love for nature.

Ka mau te wehi, tamariki mā! We can’t wait to see where your curiosity takes us next. ✨

There are no limits when tamariki explore with open-ended materials. Let tamariki’s creativity lead the way! 💫
