🎨 Art Fundamentals | Ages 5–7 🎨

The Art Fundamentals classes are all about building confidence, creativity, and core art skills in a fun, supportive environment — perfect for young artists just starting their creative journey.

Through lots of hands-on projects, students will explore different art materials and learn how to use them properly, while developing important skills that support both art-making and learning in general.

✨ What we focus on at this age:
• Learning how to use art tools safely and effectively
• Practising fine motor, physical, and observational skills
• Exploring shape, line, colour, pattern, and texture
• Learning to follow directions using verbal and visual cues

🌍 2025 theme: Art from Around the World
Projects will be inspired by cultures, places, stories, and art styles from across the globe — encouraging curiosity and creative thinking while they create.

This class is ideal for children who love to make, explore, and express themselves, while learning valuable foundational skills along the way.

This year I gave my 10+ Fundamentals classes a lot of creative freedom to create their final project for the year. They had to create a two-layered artwork, and were required to plan their subject and materials before beginning, but otherwise were able to express their creativity and skills entirely in their own manner.

It was such fun watching these artworks take shape, and I love how they've all come out so different! It was also such an amazing moment to see students remembering and applying skills and techniques they've learnt through out the year 🥹

I wasn't able to fit all of the artworks here so this is just a sample, but I'm so proud of each and every student who applied themselves to this project and I hope they're all proud of what they've created as well ☺
