(OPTION 1) GOLD; Maintenance grooming, for those who still want to take their dogs to professional groomers, but want to master the basics of much-needed maintenance between visits and to keep those pesky mats and overgrown nails at bay, as well as the high-cost bills that come with them! We also cover handling, everyday coat care, keeping eyes, feet and tails tidy and bottoms nice and clean. This course runs for 6 weeks and anyone can attend as we work around your schedule.

(OPTION 2) DIAMOND; This course is designed for pet parents who are ready to take their dog's grooming on entirely and to the next level, and are ready to ditch paying others to do what you can do from the comfort of your own home! We will cover all sorts from nose to tail and everything in between, including basic clipping and styling so your pet always looks exactly the way you want. SAVE THOUSANDS $$$ with this comprehensive option. This course runs for 12 weeks and anyone can attend as we work around your schedule.

** Please note...this training does not qualify you as a professional pet stylist and is designed specifically for pet owners to manage the grooming needs of their own pets ONLY. For extremely groom-aggressive pets, we do recommend you seek a professional who specializes in aggressive groom dogs for everyone's safety!

Spaces are limited and therefore not everyone who applies will be accepted onto their chosen course date. We will be running several classes throughout 2024 for California residents, so if you don't get into your first choice, we may be able to offer you a place on a later course, but we will endeavor to accommodate all applications where possible.

Meet your trainer… Sarah Cann

Sarah has been grooming and training dogs and groomers entering the industry for nearly 2 decades. Starting out at the very bottom, she worked her way up the ladder at a well-known corporate pet grooming service provider in the USA, and with a little blood, sweat, and tears, she has now groomed dogs and trained groomers across 2 continents and is the proud owner of Paradise Pet Salon & Spa and grooming academy in New Zealand.
Born and raised in the UK, Sarah is actually a 4th generation pet stylist, which she only discovered after her grooming journey began. Unknowingly following the footsteps of her great-grandmother who owned a grooming salon in the UK moons ago. Sarah's journey began after moving to southern California in the early 2000’s entirely by chance and is still going strong today.

With a love for teaching, Sarah also provides pathway training for teens in their final years of high school so they can enter the industry with confidence and a passion for the trade she loves so much, as well as adults looking for a career change, and has seen many of her students go on to open and run successful grooming businesses both in the USA and NZ.

Sarah’s focus is now on providing quality, wholesome, everyday pet grooming for pet parents. She lives by the groomer code “humanity before vanity”, and her focus is on always putting the pets first!

Sarah hopes to reach as many pet parents as possible starting to feel the pinch from the current economy, to help raise awareness for the grooming needs and requirements of all dogs, and to arm owners with the skills necessary to provide essential grooming care in the comfort of their own homes with a firm focus on safety for everyone, from general maintenance to haircuts and simple styles.
