Seymour has frozen the pay parity scheme, which aimed to bring ECE teacher salaries closer to those of their school sector colleagues. This scheme, which is critical for retaining our qualified teachers may soon be scrapped altogether.

And there are more changes coming, such as reductions in teacher qualified requirements.

Te Rā o Māmā - Mothers Day.

I hope all our mums had a lovely day today and liked their gifts ❤️

We are very excited to start the new year with our new kitchen and art storage area
We would like to thank Trillian Trust and Grassroots for their contributions towards the costs
The tiling and new kitchen door will finish the project nicely
Children are excited to help with baking, making play dough and using the new storage for lunch boxes and drink bottles
We hope you enjoy the aesthetics of the Kindergarten as much as we do - as we will continue to improve the environment and our teaching practice to ensure we offer the best learning opportunities for our tamariki.

💛🖤 Centres that are party to the Early Childhood Education Collective Agreement (ECECA) are going on strike tomorrow!

🗣 They are calling on the Government to deliver additional funding to support full pay parity, a funding system that supports high quality ECE and improved teacher to child ratios!

👋 We invite whānau, tamariki and educators from across the sector to attend strike events where possible to support ECECA centres that are striking from 1pm – 8pm.

◾️ Please note that this is an invitation to support these events, not to take strike action. If your workplace is not party to the ECECA, then you can not take strike action at this time.
