Congratulations to all of our Year 9 and Year 10 finalists who took part in last week's Speech Competition. Our Year 9 speakers, Aaliyah Bundy-Cooke, Miette van Zyl, Dhanvi Dave and Collins Cook, shared speeches on New Zealand changemakers who have made a difference. Our Year 10 speakers, Livia Ou, Aleah Gavin, Ruby Baxter and Sophie Babisak, tackled ethical dilemmas facing our world today.

Congratulations to Miette van Zyl, who took first place for Year 9, and Aleah Gavin, who took first place for Year 10. All eight finalists represented Hamilton Christian School with confidence and courage, well done to everyone who took part!

Last term, 15 of our Year 9 students travelled to the University of Waikato for the WILSS Waikato Young Leaders Day (WYLD).

Students were nominated by their teachers for showing leadership potential, and spent the day building leadership skills alongside young leaders from schools across the region.

It was a great experience for our future leaders, and we're proud of how they represented Hamilton Christian School!

What a privilege it has been to welcome 24 wonderful students from Otsuma Junior High School in Japan to Hamilton Christian School this week! 🇯🇵❤️🇳🇿

We have absolutely loved having them as part of our school community. It's been a fantastic opportunity to build new friendships, share experiences, and learn from one another as our cultures come together.

Seeing our students connect across languages and traditions has been incredibly special, and we are so grateful for the chance to celebrate the richness and diversity they have brought to our school.

Thank you to our visitors for sharing your culture, kindness, and enthusiasm with us. We hope this week creates lasting memories and friendships for everyone involved. We look forward to enjoying the rest of your stay!

We are SO proud to announce that Parade has made it to the Top 20 National Smokefreerockquest finals!

Parade is made up of students, Isaac Goodare, Deakin Farmer, Georgez Ruffell and Nicky Mataiti. This is an amazing achievement as there were over 1000 bands who entered Rock Quest for 2026.

We find out whether or not they make the Top 8 for NATIONALS, this Friday!!! Congratulations guys! We are backing you the whole way!
